Grandma and Grandpa Henderson

Back on Memorial day we had planned to come to Utah and visit some graves with McKay's mom.  I have never been to any of the graves on that side of the family and we were excited to learn more about them.  Well around that time we found out that we would be moving to Utah and life got really busy.  We ended up not coming to Utah memorial day weekend since we were busy prepping to move.  We have felt bad that we didn't make it to the graves so we decided to plan a special trip to the graves in October.  It happened to be Grandpa Henderson's birthday in October so that was a good excuse to visit.

We met McKay's mom at the American Fork cemetery on Sunday Oct 21 and had a little picnic.  After the picnic she shared several stories about Grandma and Grandpa Henderson and what their personalities were like.  The kids thought that it was cool that Grandpa Henderson flew planes.  She even brought some pictures to share with my kids from her childhood.  It was a nice Sunday activity and we enjoyed our time with grandma.

Grandma and Grandpa Cannon's Fall Party

Halloween has always held such fun traditions in my family from when we were growing up.  We love eating soup and bread bowls Halloween night, carving pumpkins, dressing up, decorating sugar cookies, etc.  Since Halloween falls on different days of the week each year it isn't always possible with everyone's work schedules for us to get together ON Halloween.  So this year my parents decided to do a Fall party at their house so that we could do all our fun Halloween traditions together (even though it wasn't on the actual holiday).  I think it turned out great and I hope they continue to do it each year.

The kids dressed up in their Halloween costumes for the party.  Adalyn was jasmine, Jensen was spiderman (his real costume was still coming in the mail), Declin was Superman, Magnolia was supergirl.  Rockwell, was festive with his pumpkin shirt #5thbabyproblems #nocostumeforhim.  McKay and I didn't dress up either, but we sure enjoyed seeing Mykelti and Draesen's costume.  They are awesome and have convinced me that McKay and I must dress up next year (and probably only next year).

Once everyone arrived we started decorating sugar cookies.  Truly my mom makes THE best sugar cookies.  SO good.  We were happy to help her decorate them.  Plus it is so fun to have cookies before dinner every now and then.

After we decorated the cookies we headed out to a near by pumpkin patch.  We weren't buying any pumpkins, but we loved the little activities there for the kids.  Plus a huge field of pumpkins is just fun to look at and be around.  Right?!  The kids loved the slides and enjoyed the wagon ride and corn pit.

After the pumpkin patch we headed back to my parents house for soup and bread bowls followed by some pumpkin carving.  McKay and Draesen did all of the carving.  Mykelti and I helped with the designs and everyone else watched.  Each of the kids got to pick the picture for their pumpkin and McKay was so sweet to be patient with them and make their pumpkin visions come true.

This Halloween party was such a special time with family and I love just thinking back on it.  Our kids are so lucky to have such fun grandparents.

Logan Pumpkin Walk

Our kids had fall break in October.  They had Thursday and Friday off of school.  We didn't have a big trip planned, but we did try and do a few fun activities while we had them all together.  On the Thursday of fall break we had a play date at the park with our friends the Packs.  The weather was beautiful and we found a really fun park.  The kids had a blast exploring it.

After the play date and McKay got home from work we headed up to Logan to go to the Pumpkin walk with cousins.  I like to call the pumpkin walk the Halloween festival of trees (although I realize it is completely different).  Groups sign up and decorate and "scene" with pumpkins/squash and anything else they want to use to create the scene.  It could be a scene from a movie, book, or really anything.  Then they line them all up and you can walk around and see everyone's creations.  I had remembered the pumpkin walk from when I lived in Logan during college and it was fun to go back and take our kids to see it.
Ofcourse we had to all wear matching Halloween shirts.  Kid to kid happened to have a shirt in all their sizes and I just couldn't resist.

My favorite scene from the pumpkin walk was the Incredible's.

We got there before it was too crowded and the weather was perfect.  Such a fun evening!  After the pumpkin walk we went back to Jesse and Natalie's house and ate soup and rolls while the kids played some more.

Celebrating Baby Smith

Did I ever mention that all of my sisters and I were pregnant at the same time this summer?  I don't think I have talked about it on here yet.  It was for a whole 2 weeks this summer, and it was so fun.  Rockwell was the first baby to be born, and then baby Hannah was born in August.  Mykelti and Draesen are due with their first baby in a few weeks and then Larissa and Rusty are having their third baby (a boy) due in March of 2019.  Growing up with four sisters was fun and nice, but having kids at the same time as all your sisters is AWESOME!
Here we all are with grand babies #8-#11

On Oct 13th Corinne, my mom, and I threw a baby shower for Mykelti and baby boy Smith.  I love baby showers and we had a great time planning it and hosting.  We planned a "lil pumpkin" theme shower since it was October and Mykelti and Draesen's first date was to a Halloween dance in high school.  They carved pumpkins for their activity.  So lil pumpkin fit well!

We had soup and rolls with yummy desserts and salads.  Such a fun girls day!  We can't wait to meet baby smith in a couple weeks!

Rockwell- 3 Months Old

Rockwell turned 3 months old on October 8th.  He has been a wonderful and peaceful baby.  Yes he cries, whines, and has sad moments he has been easily calmed and has been so smiley this month.

Started to think about lifting his head, but overall was still pretty unstable.  He liked to watch the kids play and have me carry him around the house so he could be looking at things.

He still would not take a bottle with formula, but he did take a few bottles of milk that I had pumped.  Guys I think I have finally figured out how to pump and actually get some milk to come out.  It only took me five babies and two different breast pumps... But I now can maintain a very small stash in the freezer for the times I need/ want to be away longer then 3 hours.  So grateful I figured things out (mostly I have just been lazy in the past).

Switched to 3-6 month clothes.  Always fun to pull out new clothes.  He takes 3 naps a day with a extra cat nap thrown in at some point.  Lots of sleep for this little guy.

Rockwell we love your cute face and that sweet gummy smile.
