Brent and Heather love to throw a new years eve party and we always have such a great time with them. We headed to their house for the evening. Lots of homemade pizza, fun games, and Heather even does "time" bags for the kids. Every hour they get to open a new bag with activities in it. They even got to do fireworks in the 4 degree weather (freezing!!). This year some of my cousins came from North Carolina and we enjoyed visiting with them and Addie had a great time playing with Alex.
Since our kids are still little with decided to head home about 10:20 pm so that we could get them in bed before the meltdowns started at Brent and Heather's house. We rolled into our driveway around midnight. Happy New year! Luckily the kids all stayed asleep during the transfer from the car to their beds so it truly was a happy new year :)
Reflecting on a new year... 2018 was the second hardest year of our marriage so far. 2011 still beats it, but not by much. We had many struggles and BIG changes going on. Through all of these struggles with family members and moving houses/jobs we also had 5 kids to take care of that need/require SO much attention. At times it was very overwhelming and we really struggled keeping our moods up and a good perspective. Thankfully as 2018 came to a close life settled down and 2018 ended on a high note. We are happy with where life has taken us and are VERY thankful for the MANY blessings that we see and know are around us daily. We are overwhelmed with the grace our savior gives to us each time we fail. We hope to be able to continue to forgive those around us and forgive ourselves as we all make mistakes. We are SO grateful for the 5 beautiful souls that live in our house these days. They are just the best and we hope we can use the time that we get to have them at home with us wisely. Life will sure be boring when they grow up! Happy New Year everyone! We already have some big plans for 2019 and we can't wait to share them soon.
