During the week before Easter Sunday we participated in the church's #princeofpeace mini lessons. Each night we talked about a different principles that help us bring true peace into our lives such as compassion, service, etc. Each topic had a video to go with it. I love that the church puts little lessons/videos together like this for the holidays. It really helps as we try and teach our children about the true meaning of Easter and Christmas.
For Easter weekend we decided to go visit family in Utah.
Saturday morning we drove down to my parents house. Once we arrived we got started coloring eggs. It has been a few years since we have dyed eggs so this felt like a new experience for all of the kids.
After coloring eggs we took a mini trip downtown Salt Lake to the conference center and temple square with my parents. Perfect time to go with the cool weather and beautiful tulips. We rode Traxs to get there and my boys were in heaven riding the "train". We have a cute video of Declin at the beginning of the ride. He was squealing and laughing about how fast the train was going. Plus he thought it was so awesome that he didn't have to ride in his carseat. It ended up being a sweet relaxing day spent with family. Later that evening McKay went to his mom's house to help with some projects while I put the kids to bed and hung out at my parents house.
Easter Sunday started with the kids finding their Easter baskets that the Easter bunny had hidden around the house. This year the Easter bunny brought gel pens, notebooks, flip flops, and some treats. Magnolia got a new summer outfit, puff treats, and her first sippy cups.
After an early breakfast we headed to McKay's mom's for church and dinner after at her house. It was stake conference for her which worked out nice since we had only planned to go to sacrament meeting. After church we took a quick trip to the duck pond at BYU. I attempted a few "Easter" photos, but it was noon and the sun was really bright so the photos didn't go over too well. Later we enjoyed Sunday dinner and then we headed back to Idaho.
We are grateful to be able to spend time with family and I am grateful for the spirit that I was able to feel during the talks on Sunday about the savior. I am also grateful that we were able to enjoy the beautiful flowers, trees, and fountains all throughout Salt Lake and the park on Sunday. We truly live in a beautiful world. Hope you had a wonderful Easter!
