The traditions that we loved in December were new matching Christmas jammies at the beginning of December, a few Christmas crafts throughout the month, a drive around town to see Christmas lights, matching Christmas colored clothes at church (even if church is at home), and family Christmas parties.
We like to start off the Christmas season with new Christmas themed jammies for all the kids. This is one of my favorite outfits to pick out for all the kids.
The kids LOVED talking about their Christmas lists all month long and changed their letters to Santa many times. They really enjoyed looking at all of the Christmas lights around town and we enjoyed a few Christmas music dance parties. This year we still had Covid-19 to worry about so there were fewer Christmas parties and activities. The ward did not have a party and their parties at school were a little bit smaller scale.
As a foster family this year we were able to receive gifts from those who donated to kids in care. Utah Foster Care also such a great job at organizing this event and the air force from Hill Air Force Base deliver the gifts to each kid in care. Our foster kids were able to receive presents from the giving tree. These gifts help a lot as we try and buy things for all 9 kids. We were also given tickets to a light display at Willard Bay. We had never been through an official light display before and it made for a fun new Christmas activity.
We had a Cannon Family Christmas party at Larissa and Rusty's house. We had dinner, did a gift exchange, and attempted the Nativity with all the kids. The nativity was a bit wild, but I am sure with practice their acting skills will improve. haha!
