Summer Fun in July

We go to visit family in Utah/Wyoming a lot.  You KNOW that.  Often when we go to visit family though we go for specific events and we don't end up having a lot of time to just relax and visit.  So I decided that this year we were going to spend a week this summer having a "staycation" with family.  No events on the schedule, just family time.  I thought we would have such a calm relaxing week and tons of free time.  haha!  Silly me!  In the end we still packed a lot into our schedule and were still busy with lots of activities.

Everything worked out well it was just busy!  The week that we picked was the week after the 4th of July.  So instead of going home after fireworks in Evanston we stayed for 2 more days to spend time with McKay's dad and stepmom Liz.  I am not a lot of help on the farm while watching my 4 kids, but McKay was able to help a bit on the farm.  On Wednesday we helped them sell their eggs at the Park City farmers market.  We helped set up and sell for a while and then I took the kids to see Cars 3 at the movie theater while McKay finished up at the farmers market.

After spending time in Evanston we headed to Provo for a few hours to visit McKay's mom and eat the yummy pizza from Two Jacks.  After Provo we headed back up to Ogden (yeah we drive a little bit) to have a house warming party at Corinne and Stu's new house.  They had quite the adventure selling their old two houses and then finally finding their current house so we were excited to finally see them get settled and check out their new place.  We think it is a great house and has an awesome yard with a beautiful view.  The timing of this little get together worked out great since my cousin Brian and his family were visiting from out of State.  It was their last night in Utah and we were thrilled that they were able to spend it with us.  They have 4 boys around the same ages as my kids and it was fun for my kids to have cousins to play with.  They ran through the sprinklers a little bit, had popsicles together, and laughed at each others silly jokes all night.  They were fun to watch.

After the party Corinne and Stu let us steal Solomon and take him with us back to my parents house for a little cousin sleepover.  Guys we love "king Solomon" it is way too fun watching him and Magnolia grow up together.  Cousins are so awesome.

Friday and Saturday we spent at my parents house.  Friday we went on an early morning walk around the lake with the kids.  They thought it was SO fun that we let them wear their pajamas and eat their cereal out of a bag (fun parents over here! haha!).  We swam that afternoon and played and relaxed.  Saturday the men went and played disc golf (always a must, even if my dad always wins).  We took the kids to the park too, but it was SO hot already that morning that they mostly just ate swedish fish and whined about the heat.

After disc golf my mom and I headed out with Magnolia for a little window shopping and lunch.  I needed a quick break after a busy week and I am grateful for a little bit of mother/daughter time with my mom.

Saturday evening we headed home to be back in our ward for church.  We enjoyed our week with family!
