Its A...

Oh man guys life is crazy around here!  Normally we live a pretty calm and simple life, but this month we have been running all over the place.  My pregnant self can hardly keep up!  So forgive me that things have been slow around here.  BUT the good thing is that we have been doing lots of fun things and I have a million and one pictures to share.  So get ready!

On April 28 I did something a little crazy.  I decided to go find out the gender of baby #4 at a fetal studio at the mall in Utah.  Honestly I had never really thought about finding out the gender any earlier then the 20 week ultrasound.  But in the last few weeks I had so many friends talking about it and finding out early as well (although most of them did the blood test not the fetal studio).  My backyard neighbor really talked up the fetal studio idea and convinced me that it would be fun.

The last push to find out early was that my sister Corinne (who is due 9 days before me) was going to find out early from her midwife and I thought it would be fun if we could announce to our family together.

So when I was in Salt Lake helping with wedding prep for Mykelti's wedding I decided to go find out the gender.  I was pretty nervous to have the ultrasound and thoughts of something being wrong with the baby definitely kept crossing my mind.  But I tried to think positively.  Thankfully my mom was able to come with me (since McKay was still in Idaho with the kids) and I was really happy to not be there alone.  The technician that did the ultrasound was awesome and she totally acted just as excited as I was.

Drum roll.....

We are having a GIRL!

The tech said she was 100% sure that it was a girl.  :)

When she told me it was a little girl I truly almost died!  I can't even describe the peace and happiness that came over me in that moment.  It was one of the best moments of my life.  It just felt like the perfect addition to our family.  The rest of the day I could not stop smiling and daydreaming about this new little one.  Such a wonderful blessing to come into our lives and I am trying to cherish every moment of it.

After the ultrasound I called McKay and told him the news (I promise we discussed things before hand and he assured me that he was happy with just a phone call).  I told him that I got what I wanted and he immediately knew it was a girl.  haha!

We then kept it a secret from our kids and the rest of the family until after Mykelti's Family dinner the next evening.  After the dinner we had a mini gender reveal party where Corinne and I announced what our sweet babies would be.  She knew what she was having and I knew mine, but we did not know what the other one was having.  Keeping it a secret from each other was hard especially when we went to buy the balloons together, but it was worth the hassle to keep it a secret to have the added excitement.  Before opening the boxes we made everyone take a guess and wear pink and blue stickers on their shoulders.  Some got it right, but most people did not guess both babies genders correctly.

When the moment finally came we found out Corinne and Stu are having a boy and of course we are having a girl.  Both of us are excited about these new little additions and it will be so fun to watch them grow up together.

Adalyn was SO excited!  She knew exactly what the pink balloons meant and is thrilled for a little sister.  Now every baby girl that we see she asks if our baby girl is going to be that small.  I am VERY excited for her to get a sister and be able to develop that special bond with her.  Adalyn will be a great older sister.  Declin doesn't have a clue what is going on (he did love the balloons though) and Jensen is still convinced that it is a baby boy.  But I think he will be happy with a baby girl in the end.  :)

It was such a fun night celebrating Mykelti's wedding (more pictures coming) and finding out the genders.  Can't wait to meet these two cuties!

Oh and of course I have already started planning her nursery (I am 85% sure this is the bedding that I am going with since that baby blanket is adorable).  We are also discussing baby girl names.  There is one name we really like, but we are still trying to make sure it is the right one.  There is also a package in the mail with a few little girl clothes.  So yes, baby prep is underway and I am not even half way yet!  :)

  2. I LOVE that you did the reveal with your sister. That is SO so so fun. I've been amazed at how many people I know who are pregnant right now and who know the gender so early. Technology is amazing that it can tell the gender earlier and earlier. That bedding is so darling. Hooray for Adalyn getting a sister! I'm so happy for you.
